The goal is to move towards a low-car\u00adbon and resource-effi\u00adcient soci\u00adety. Oulu\u2019s green tran\u00adsi\u00adtion cov\u00aders many dif\u00adfer\u00adent areas, and the city strives to be car\u00adbon neu\u00adtral by the year 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ener\u00adgy and cli\u00admate: Oulu aims to increase the use of renew\u00adable ener\u00adgy and reduce car\u00adbon diox\u00adide emis\u00adsions. This may include, for exam\u00adple, the pro\u00admo\u00adtion of solar ener\u00adgy, wind pow\u00ader, and ener\u00adgy effi\u00adcien\u00adcy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobil\u00adi\u00adty: Oulu invests in sus\u00adtain\u00adable mobil\u00adi\u00adty, such as cycling, pedes\u00adtri\u00adan\u00adism, and pub\u00adlic trans\u00adport. The area is home to many cleantech com\u00adpa\u00adnies and research insti\u00adtutes that devel\u00adop new tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies and inno\u00adva\u00adtions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The City of Oulu green indus\u00adtry mas\u00adter plan 2030<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Oulu\u2019s green tran\u00adsi\u00adtion is an impor\u00adtant step towards a more sus\u00adtain\u00adable future, and it offers oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties for both com\u00adpa\u00adnies and indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals. Oulu is an excel\u00adlent place for hydro\u00adgen busi\u00adness, as there are many suit\u00adable indus\u00adtri\u00adal areas here, as well as clean elec\u00adtric\u00adi\u00adty and water. Oulu also has skilled work\u00adforce and high-qual\u00adi\u00adty research on hydro\u00adgen and renew\u00adable ener\u00adgy. We have good oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties to build a hydro\u00adgen-based indus\u00adtry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The City of Oulu plans to imple\u00adment a large green tran\u00adsi\u00adtion indus\u00adtri\u00adal area in the <strong>Pyyryv\u00e4i\u00adnen area<\/strong>, where indus\u00adtry would be locat\u00aded in the future, and which will imple\u00adment Fin\u00adland\u2019s so-called green tran\u00adsi\u00adtion. The plan\u00adning also includes the con\u00adstruc\u00adtion of new road and rail con\u00adnec\u00adtions, a 400-kilo\u00advolt pow\u00ader line, and a pos\u00adsi\u00adble hydro\u00adgen pipeline in the area. Oulun Ener\u00adgia pow\u00ader com\u00adpa\u00adny and P2X Solu\u00adtions joint\u00adly announced a plan to build a large hydro\u00adgen plant in <strong>Laani\u00adla<\/strong>. The aim is to start pro\u00adduc\u00ading hydro\u00adgen and elec\u00adtri\u00adcal fuels at the plant in 2028 at the ear\u00adli\u00adest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devel\u00adop\u00adment relat\u00aded to hydro\u00adgen tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy will also take place in the <strong>Port of Oulu area in Oritkari<\/strong>. The port area is a con\u00adcen\u00adtra\u00adtion of the hydro\u00adgen econ\u00ado\u00admy, in con\u00adnec\u00adtion with which the process for mak\u00ading plan\u00adning reser\u00adva\u00adtions for plots was start\u00aded in April 2024. There are ready-made site loca\u00adtions with chem\u00adi\u00adcal indus\u00adtry zon\u00ading. The Port of Oulu offers 150 hectares of green indus\u00adtry invest\u00adment plat\u00adform for H2 pro\u00adduc\u00adtion and refine\u00adment. The process of reserv\u00ading lands is ongo\u00ading in May 2024.
