When all three stages of the project are ful\u00adly com\u00adplet\u00aded, the plant could pro\u00adduce hydro\u00adgen by elec\u00adtrol\u00ady\u00adsis with a capac\u00adi\u00adty of over 500 megawatt (MW). The hydro\u00adgen plant would be com\u00admis\u00adsioned in three phas\u00ades between 2028 and 2033.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first phase of the project would involve the con\u00adstruc\u00adtion of a hydro\u00adgen pro\u00adduc\u00adtion plant of a max\u00adi\u00admum of 5 MW and a hydro\u00adgen refu\u00adelling sta\u00adtion for bus\u00ades and oth\u00ader heavy-duty vehi\u00adcles. In the next phase, the capac\u00adi\u00adty of the hydro\u00adgen pro\u00adduc\u00adtion plant would be increased to 10\u201350 MW and hydro\u00adgen exports via the planned hydro\u00adgen pipeline and the port of Oulu could be an option, if the need\u00aded infra\u00adstruc\u00adture is avail\u00adable. In the third phase, pro\u00adduc\u00adtion would be fur\u00adther increased to an addi\u00adtion\u00adal capac\u00adi\u00adty of 100\u2013500 MW. The sched\u00adule and full size of the project are high\u00adly depen\u00addent on the mar\u00adket sit\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion and the infra\u00adstruc\u00adture avail\u00adable in the select\u00aded new green\u00adfield site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf the right mar\u00adket con\u00addi\u00adtions are met, we expect the first phase to be ready by 2028. How\u00adev\u00ader, this is a major indus\u00adtri\u00adal project and invest\u00adment, so the plan\u00adning reser\u00adva\u00adtion we have now received is only one of the first steps towards mak\u00ading con\u00adcrete invest\u00adment deci\u00adsions. In projects of this size, plan\u00adning and stud\u00adies are always car\u00adried out care\u00adful\u00adly,\u201d com\u00adments Karl Schulthe\u00adis, Head of New Busi\u00adness Devel\u00adop\u00adment at Energiequelle Fin\u00adland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oulu Green Hydro\u00adgen Park project is Energiequelle\u2019s first pub\u00adlic hydro\u00adgen project in Fin\u00adland, but the com\u00adpa\u00adny has already gained expe\u00adri\u00adence in the Euro\u00adpean hydro\u00adgen mar\u00adket. In Feb\u00adru\u00adary, the group unveiled and opened the HY.City.Bremerhaven project in Ger\u00admany, which was inau\u00adgu\u00adrat\u00aded by Ger\u00adman Chan\u00adcel\u00adlor Olaf Scholz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with oth\u00ader hydro\u00adgen play\u00aders, Energiequelle is part of a hydro\u00adgen pro\u00adduc\u00adtion facil\u00adi\u00adty and refu\u00adel\u00ading sta\u00adtion for bus\u00ades and heavy-duty vehi\u00adcles in the Ger\u00adman city of Bre\u00admer\u00adhaven, which is very sim\u00adi\u00adlar to the first phase of the project now planned for Oulu. We there\u00adfore have a strong belief that the project will pro\u00adceed suc\u00adcess\u00adful\u00adly,\u201d says Michael Rasche\u00admann, the own\u00ader of the Energiequelle Group, adding that the real\u00adi\u00adsa\u00adtion of the project will also depend on the invest\u00adment envi\u00adron\u00adment and inter\u00adest of off-tak\u00aders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elec\u00adtric\u00adi\u00adty in Fin\u00adland is among the cheap\u00adest in Europe. The Oulu region is the largest pro\u00adduc\u00ader of renew\u00adable elec\u00adtric\u00adi\u00adty in Fin\u00adland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sev\u00ader\u00adal oth\u00ader hydro\u00adgen pro\u00adduc\u00adtion and H2 deriv\u00ada\u00adtive projects have already been ini\u00adti\u00adat\u00aded in the Oulu region. The Finnish state-owned gas trans\u00admis\u00adsion sys\u00adtem oper\u00ada\u00adtor Gas\u00adgrid Fin\u00adland plans to estab\u00adlish a hydro\u00adgen trans\u00adport infra\u00adstruc\u00adture to con\u00adnect Oulu\u2019s hydro\u00adgen pro\u00adduc\u00adtion with the rest of Fin\u00adland and oth\u00ader Euro\u00adpean coun\u00adtries, includ\u00ading Ger\u00admany. Oth\u00ader hydro\u00adgen pro\u00adduc\u00adtion com\u00adpa\u00adnies have also decid\u00aded to invest in Oulu, attract\u00aded by the inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal port of Oulu, bio\u00adgenic car\u00adbon diox\u00adide sources and the Euro\u00adpean TEN\u2011T trans\u00adport net\u00adwork. The Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Oulu is also a cen\u00adtre of hydro\u00adgen research, pro\u00advid\u00ading the city with both high-qual\u00adi\u00adty hydro\u00adgen exper\u00adtise and a large pool of hydro\u00adgen spe\u00adcial\u00adists to meet the work\u00adforce needs of com\u00adpa\u00adnies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This land reser\u00adva\u00adtion is only a pre\u00adlim\u00adi\u00adnary deci\u00adsion; a final invest\u00adment deci\u00adsion will be made lat\u00ader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n\n\n<p>About Oulu GH2 \u2014 Togeth\u00ader towards green hydro\u00adgen busi\u00adness in Oulu and North\u00adern Fin\u00adland project aims to cre\u00adate a cen\u00adtral\u00adized hydro\u00adgen econ\u00ado\u00admy inno\u00adva\u00adtion ecosys\u00adtem oper\u00adat\u00ading mod\u00adel for the region of Oulu and North Ostro\u00adboth\u00adnia. As part of the project, the hydro\u00adgen val\u00adley of the Both\u00adn\u00adian Bay will be built by shar\u00ading infor\u00adma\u00adtion and bring\u00ading actors togeth\u00ader, shar\u00ading news and best case stud\u00adies, and effec\u00adtive\u00adly com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adcat\u00ading them to dif\u00adfer\u00adent parts of the net\u00adwork by Busi\u00adnes\u00adsOulu.
