Cleantech Oulu par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpat\u00aded for the sec\u00adond time in the World Hydro\u00adgen Sum\u00admit in Rot\u00adter\u00addam on May 22\u201323, 2025. Busi\u00adness Fin\u00adland had gath\u00adered 20 orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions for Fin\u00adland\u2019s joint stand: com\u00adpa\u00adnies and region\u00adal devel\u00adop\u00adment agen\u00adcies. The world\u2019s hap\u00adpi\u00adest coun\u00adtry brand\u00aded its stand as the State of Hap\u00adpi\u00adness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oulu was show\u00adcased under the theme \u201cMost exten\u00adsive hydro\u00adgen Hub in Europe.\u201d We high\u00adlight\u00aded Oulu\u2019s strengths and our six hydro\u00adgen projects. Our under\u00adstand\u00ading of Oulu\u2019s posi\u00adtion at the fore\u00adfront of hydro\u00adgen devel\u00adop\u00adment was rein\u00adforced. Oulu worked close\u00adly at the fair with, among oth\u00aders, the West Coast hydro\u00adgen val\u00adley Both2nia and the south\u00adern \u201cOulu South\u201d hydro\u00adgen val\u00adley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pavil\u00adion buzzed with inter\u00adest in Fin\u00adland, lead\u00ading to meet\u00adings and con\u00adcrete nego\u00adti\u00ada\u00adtions. Sep\u00adpo Kaikko\u00adnen and Janne Hietanie\u00admi from Busi\u00adnes\u00adsOulu had about 70 high-qual\u00adi\u00adty meet\u00adings over the two days. Jan\u00adne\u2019s high\u00adlights includ\u00aded meet\u00adings with two new investor can\u00addi\u00addates at the fair. Sep\u00adpo, on the oth\u00ader hand, saw the great\u00adest ben\u00ade\u00adfit of the fair as the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to test Oulu\u2019s hydro\u00adgen strat\u00ade\u00adgy with inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal actors. We also see coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with\u00adin Fin\u00adland\u2019s inno\u00adva\u00adtion ecosys\u00adtem as very impor\u00adtant. Togeth\u00ader, we sought new ways and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties to tack\u00adle the ever-chang\u00ading mar\u00adket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con\u00adnec\u00adtions were also built with hydro\u00adgen val\u00adleys in dif\u00adfer\u00adent coun\u00adtries at the fair. For exam\u00adple, vis\u00adits to Oulu were agreed upon with hydro\u00adgen actors from Ger\u00admany and the Nether\u00adlands dur\u00ading Nordic Hydro\u00adgen Week in Feb\u00adru\u00adary 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our team includ\u00aded sev\u00ader\u00adal com\u00adpa\u00adnies devel\u00adop\u00ading hydro\u00adgen projects in the Oulu region, such as Oulun Ener\u00adgia, P2X Solu\u00adtions, Energiequelle, and ABO Ener\u00adgy. Togeth\u00ader, we aimed to find miss\u00ading pieces for Oulu\u2019s hydro\u00adgen ecosys\u00adtem at the fair, such as tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies and hydro\u00adgen users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the hydro\u00adgen econ\u00ado\u00admy, most of the plan\u00adning reser\u00adva\u00adtions have been made, and now the focus is on ensur\u00ading that as many reser\u00adva\u00adtions as pos\u00adsi\u00adble turn into con\u00adcrete invest\u00adments that cre\u00adate jobs and well-being in the north.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
