The Oulu unit has ten pro\u00adduc\u00adtion mod\u00adules, some of which are equipped to han\u00addle the most demand\u00ading OEB5-class com\u00adpounds. In August, CleantechOulu vis\u00adit\u00aded Fermion\u2019s plant in Madekos\u00adki, Oulu, which is one of Finland\u2019s key phar\u00adma\u00adceu\u00adti\u00adcal pro\u00adduc\u00adtion units \u2013 and also the world\u2019s north\u00adern\u00admost phar\u00adma\u00adceu\u00adti\u00adcal plant. Fermi\u00adon, part of the Ori\u00adon Group, man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtures active phar\u00adma\u00adceu\u00adti\u00adcal ingre\u00addi\u00adents (APIs) used in the treat\u00adment of can\u00adcer, car\u00addio\u00advas\u00adcu\u00adlar dis\u00adeases, and men\u00adtal health dis\u00ador\u00adders, among oth\u00aders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fermi\u00adon invests heav\u00adi\u00adly in envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtal respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty and ener\u00adgy effi\u00adcien\u00adcy. The plant fea\u00adtures a cryo\u00adgenic VOC con\u00adden\u00adsa\u00adtion sys\u00adtem, and waste heat is uti\u00adlized for prop\u00ader\u00adty heat\u00ading. Chem\u00adi\u00adcals are han\u00addled in closed sys\u00adtems to ensure safe\u00adty, and efforts are con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00adous\u00adly made to reduce waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Oulu plant employs over 100 phar\u00adma\u00adceu\u00adti\u00adcal pro\u00adduc\u00adtion pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adals and works close\u00adly with oth\u00ader Ori\u00adon units. Up to 90% of Fermion\u2019s prod\u00aducts are export\u00aded, mak\u00ading it a sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant play\u00ader in Euro\u00adpean phar\u00adma\u00adceu\u00adti\u00adcal man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00ading. Plant Direc\u00adtor Jouko Oikari\u00adnen notes that they have found well-edu\u00adcat\u00aded staff for all roles in Oulu, includ\u00ading design\u00aders and oper\u00ada\u00adtors. Coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with neigh\u00adbor\u00ading com\u00adpa\u00adnies Chempo\u00adlis and Adven, as well as with the city, has also been smooth.
