The North\u00adern Fire Safe\u00adty Forum was held on Tues\u00adday, 21 April 2026, at BusinessOulu\u2019s Start\u00adup Event Space in the heart of Oulu city cen\u00adtre. The forum was organ\u00adised by Jensen & Hugh\u00ades\u2019 Oulu office, part of Jensen & Hugh\u00ades, an inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal fire safe\u00adty con\u00adsult\u00ading com\u00adpa\u00adny in co-oper\u00ada\u00adtion with Busi\u00adnes\u00adsOulu. The event was high\u00adly top\u00adi\u00adcal, as invest\u00adments relat\u00aded to the green tran\u00adsi\u00adtion are also dri\u00adving the need for new and advanced fire safe\u00adty solu\u00adtions.<\/em>

CEO Samuli Heikkil\u00e4<\/strong> and Busi\u00adnes\u00adsOulu Key Account Man\u00adag\u00ader Janne Hietanie\u00admi <\/strong>wel\u00adcomed par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants, after which the morn\u00ading con\u00adtin\u00adued with a gen\u00ader\u00adous break\u00adfast. The pro\u00adgramme opened with a more detailed intro\u00adduc\u00adtion to Jensen & Hugh\u00ades. The company\u2019s Oulu office was estab\u00adlished in 2021 and is the north\u00adern\u00admost Jensen & Hugh\u00ades office in Fin\u00adland. The com\u00adpa\u00adny pri\u00admar\u00adi\u00adly serves North\u00adern Fin\u00adland, offer\u00ading strong exper\u00adtise in fire safe\u00adty con\u00adsult\u00ading. One of the key strengths of the Oulu office is its indus\u00adtri\u00adal-sec\u00adtor know-how, with safe\u00adty audits high\u00adlight\u00aded as an exam\u00adple.

In a case pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion, Mikko Par\u00adta\u00adnen<\/strong> dis\u00adcussed fire safe\u00adty design at Nokia\u2019s Lin\u00adnan\u00admaa site, explain\u00ading how dif\u00adfer\u00adent design approach\u00ades ulti\u00admate\u00adly result\u00aded in a cost-effi\u00adcient and flex\u00adi\u00adble solu\u00adtion. One of the chal\u00adlenges at the site was the use of wood in the first-floor fa\u00e7ade, which intro\u00adduces spe\u00adcif\u00adic fire safe\u00adty con\u00adsid\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions.

The third pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion was deliv\u00adered by Mikko Salmi\u00adnen<\/strong>, who focused on the fire design of steel struc\u00adtures. As an exam\u00adple, he pre\u00adsent\u00aded an indus\u00adtri\u00adal site in Ire\u00adland where par\u00adtial fire pro\u00adtec\u00adtion had already been imple\u00adment\u00aded ear\u00adli\u00ader. This posed chal\u00adlenges for devel\u00adop\u00ading a more com\u00adpre\u00adhen\u00adsive fire safe\u00adty solu\u00adtion.

The final pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion, led by Juho Pussi\u00adnen<\/strong>, addressed fire safe\u00adty design for data cen\u00adtres. This includes com\u00adpre\u00adhen\u00adsive plan\u00adning of basic infra\u00adstruc\u00adture, ded\u00adi\u00adcat\u00aded pow\u00ader sub\u00adsta\u00adtions, cool\u00ading sys\u00adtems, and exten\u00adsive coor\u00addi\u00adna\u00adtion with mul\u00adti\u00adple author\u00adi\u00adties. The rapid growth of data cen\u00adtre projects in North\u00adern Fin\u00adland places fire safe\u00adty design in a crit\u00adi\u00adcal role.The pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion sparked active dis\u00adcus\u00adsion, ques\u00adtions, and reflec\u00adtions on whether data cen\u00adtre projects should also be con-sidered indus\u00adtri\u00adal projects.

After the reward\u00ading forum, some par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants con\u00adtin\u00adued direct\u00adly to lunch. The evening pro\u00adgramme was held at Jensen & Hugh\u00ades\u2019 Oulu office.
