Kest\u00e4v\u00e4 logis\u00adti\u00adik\u00adka 2026 event brought togeth\u00ader around 150 rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtives from logis\u00adtics com\u00adpa\u00adnies, experts, devel\u00adop\u00aders, and pub\u00adlic sec\u00adtor orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions at Ruu\u00adtikan\u00adgas in Limin\u00adka on 25 Sep\u00adtem\u00adber to dis\u00adcuss the trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion of the logis\u00adtics sec\u00adtor, new ener\u00adgy solu\u00adtions, and the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties offered by data to improve com\u00adpet\u00adi\u00adtive\u00adness and sus\u00adtain\u00adabil\u00adi\u00adty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the keynote pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion, Asso\u00adciate Pro\u00adfes\u00adsor of Sus\u00adtain\u00adable Logis\u00adtics and Sup\u00adply Chain Man\u00adage\u00adment Timo Pohjosen\u00adper\u00e4<\/strong> from the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Oulu explored the ongo\u00ading trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion of the logis\u00adtics indus\u00adtry and how emerg\u00ading tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies can be trans\u00adlat\u00aded into prac\u00adti\u00adcal solu\u00adtions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar\u00adjaana Komi<\/strong> from OSAO dis\u00adcussed the impact of EU reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions on the logis\u00adtics sec\u00adtor, with a par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar focus on the devel\u00adop\u00adment of hydro\u00adgen-pow\u00adered heavy trans\u00adport mar\u00adkets. In addi\u00adtion, Jyri M\u00e4kel\u00e4<\/strong> (Cen\u00adtria) and Tui\u00adja V\u00e4yry\u00adnen<\/strong> (Oamk) pre\u00adsent\u00aded new busi\u00adness oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties and pilot ini\u00adtia\u00adtives being imple\u00adment\u00aded in the Limin\u00adka region. The poten\u00adtial of data uti\u00adliza\u00adtion in logis\u00adtics was high\u00adlight\u00aded by Satu Kaup\u00adpinen<\/strong> from Cen\u00adtria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the high\u00adlights of the event was a pan\u00adel dis\u00adcus\u00adsion on alter\u00adna\u00adtive trans\u00adport fuels mod\u00ader\u00adat\u00aded by Taavi Heikki\u00adnen<\/strong>, Man\u00adag\u00ading Direc\u00adtor of SKAL North\u00adern Fin\u00adland. The dis\u00adcus\u00adsion focused on elec\u00adtri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion, hydro\u00adgen solu\u00adtions, and the busi\u00adness oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties cre\u00adat\u00aded by low-emis\u00adsion logis\u00adtics. Hydro\u00adgen, elec\u00adtric\u00adi\u00adty, bio\u00adgas, and their respec\u00adtive roles in future trans\u00adport solu\u00adtions gen\u00ader\u00adat\u00aded par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly live\u00adly debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dur\u00ading the after\u00adnoon, par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants explored prac\u00adti\u00adcal inno\u00adva\u00adtions at the exhi\u00adbi\u00adtion area, fea\u00adtur\u00ading a hybrid trac\u00adtor, an elec\u00adtric tracked vehi\u00adcle, a hydro\u00adgen-pow\u00adered truck, an elec\u00adtric truck, and an elec\u00adtric bus. Jarkko Koskela<\/strong>, CEO of Ruu\u00adtikun\u00adnat Oy, also intro\u00adduced the Ruu\u00adtikan\u00adgas area and its future devel\u00adop\u00adment oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event demon\u00adstrat\u00aded that sus\u00adtain\u00adable logis\u00adtics solu\u00adtions are evolv\u00ading rapid\u00adly and cre\u00adat\u00ading sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant busi\u00adness oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties for com\u00adpa\u00adnies across North\u00adern Fin\u00adland. The future of logis\u00adtics will be built on data, new tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies, and a diverse mix of ener\u00adgy sources, rather than a sin\u00adgle solu\u00adtion. North\u00adern Fin\u00adland\u2019s long dis\u00adtances fur\u00adther empha\u00adsize the impor\u00adtance of func\u00adtion\u00ading infra\u00adstruc\u00adture, invest\u00adments, and close coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion between stake\u00adhold\u00aders. Achiev\u00ading a sus\u00adtain\u00adable tran\u00adsi\u00adtion requires bold deci\u00adsion-mak\u00ading and a focus on enabling solu\u00adtions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
