About the Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During spring 2026, the Datasta resilienssi\u00e4 (DARE)<\/em> preparatory project will examine how data economy\u2013related objectives are being implemented in Finland\u2019s six largest cities. The project aims to form a shared overall view of how cities can jointly strengthen the growth base of Finland\u2019s data economy, create new business opportunities, and improve societal resilience through the use of data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main objective of the preparatory project is to produce a comprehensive situational overview of how the largest Finnish cities support, utilize, and govern the data economy. Based on this overview, the project will prepare an implementation plan for a joint project that addresses the identified development areas and challenges and serves as a nationally led flagship initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why it matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finland\u2019s largest cities have a significant role in supporting the growth of the data economy. By creating a shared understanding of how data economy goals are being realized across cities, the DARE preparatory project helps strengthen collaboration and coordination at the national level. A common situational overview enables cities to identify shared development needs and challenges and to work together to enhance data-driven growth, support the creation of new business opportunities, and improve societal resilience and crisis preparedness through the effective use of data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
