ICTOulu recently had the chance to chat with Mika Lepp\u00e4nen<\/strong>, Sales & Business Developer, and Anni Ker\u00e4nen<\/strong>, Head of Talent Acquisition, at Unikie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unikie is a large software design company with over 1,000 personnel. They specialize in the Internet of Everything (IoE), AI, and 5G, making software for clients from the automotive industry, manufacturing companies, and much more. Most of their workforce is based in Finland, with around 600 personnel based in offices in Oulu, Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Kuopio, and Kokkola. Additionally, they are rapidly expanding with sites in overseas territories such as Poland and Estonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unikie’s unique work culture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Employees have a substantial amount of autonomy over their projects. People work independently according to their own hours and are matched with projects that are of interest to them, in order to best utilize their individual talents and strengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also lots of scope for personal growth within the company. Whilst project work is a big part of day-to-day, there are various opportunities for employees to develop new skills. This sense of independence and freedom is reflected in the fact that Unikie is a flat organization \u2013 a business that operates without too much hierarchy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Growing the Unikie team<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Recruitment is active and continuous, with 150 new individuals joining the team in the last year. In Oulu, the number of personnel has risen from 5 in 2018 to 70 in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
