BusinessOulu
As a public utility of Oulu, BusinessOulu provides its services equally for every Oulu-based company or companies willing to grow their business in the North. BusinessOulu’s mission is to promote vitality in the city of Oulu by building success potential for the entire region, its citizens, and companies.
Business Finland
Business Finland is Finland’s official organisation for innovation funding and trade, investment, and travel promotion. Business Finland promotes collaboration between companies and research groups by fostering partnerships and new initiatives which can evolve into international business ecosystems. Since sustainability is at the core of Business Finland’s strategy and operations, the partnership establishes a whole sustainable ecosystem.
Oulu Innovation Alliance (OIA)
The Oulu Innovation Alliance is a strategic alliance of significant research, development, and innovation stakeholders in the Oulu region. Its goal is to strengthen the region’s innovation capacity and Northern Finland’s global competitiveness. In this strategic period (2021–2027), Oulu’s vision is to create the best digital ecosystem in Europe to generate added value globally. The Oulu Innovation Alliance offers companies the perfect platform for research, development, competence development, various experimental environments, and national and international partner networks. Their promise to companies and stakeholders is to be the best partner in promoting innovation.
Circular Cluster
The circular economy cluster promotes the circular economy business of companies in the Oulu region and supports the transition to circular economy. The Circular Cluster operates as an open ecosystem by promoting cooperation between companies, the public sector, and research and development organisations.
Arctic Construction Cluster Finland
The Northern Finnish Construction Cluster unites Northern Finland’s construction industry companies, educational institutions, and authorities to work for the best of the construction industry and regional development. Now, almost 100 experts are involved in the cluster’s operations – mainly company and community members, but also individual ones.
R&D and education
We have a strong history in energy-intensive industry. High-tech and university research create great R&D and business opportunities in Oulu. The University of Oulu is profiling itself with H2 and is a founder of Hydrogen Research Forum Finland. Our research partners share their expertise, research findings, and best practices related to clean technologies. They collaborate on joint projects, conduct studies, and exchange insights to accelerate innovation. Educational partners collaborate on developing and commercialising clean technologies.
