Inside Visidon: Skills Mat­ter – Back­grounds Don’t

Found­ed as a spin off from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Oulu, Visidon has grown into an inter­na­tion­al com­pa­ny devel­op­ing advanced image and video enhance­ment algo­rithms for devices from mobile phones to drones.

Col­leagues describe Visidon as friend­ly, open, and sup­port­ive – a work­place where every­one can ask, learn, and col­lab­o­rate regard­less of back­ground or role. Finnish work–life bal­ance is also cen­tral to their cul­ture. Visidon was rec­og­nized as Oulu’s Most Inter­na­tion­al Employ­er of 2025.

“When­ev­er I fin­ish my work dur­ing the day, I just close my email, my chats and focus on my per­son­al life,” says Moham­mad Tavako­lian, Senior Machine Learn­ing Engi­neer.

The ben­e­fits of the inter­na­tion­al work­place are mutu­al. It is an advan­tage to the com­pa­ny to have Eng­lish as a pri­ma­ry lan­guage, but the inter­na­tion­al tal­ents also broad­en the per­spec­tives of the team. For Vineeth the Finnish work­life appears to have low hier­ar­chy, which sup­ports flu­en­cy in work­ing process­es.
