Join us for the sec­ond part of our Sounds & Sto­ries series, where this time you take cen­ter stage! Whether you’re new to Fin­land or have lived here for years, this is your chance to bring a piece of your cul­ture to the room through music.

Music is a Uni­ver­sal Lan­guage: Let’s Speak It Togeth­er!

Last time we learnt about Finnish music cul­ture – this time we will start with some music from the UK from our British host. Then it will be over to you!

We invite you to share a song from your home coun­try and tell us what it means to you. It could be a child­hood favorite, a song that reminds you of home, or a track that sim­ply makes you feel some­thing. No per­for­mance required — just your sto­ry and the music that moves you.

Here are some things to con­sid­er when choos­ing your song:

• Which song reminds you of home?
• Which song was very pop­u­lar in your home coun­try?
• Who is the most famous artist or band from your home coun­try?
• What genre is pop­u­lar in your coun­try that might not be so pop­u­lar else­where?
• Which song reminds you of your child­hood?
• Which song shows off the cul­ture of your home coun­try?

Whether you want to share or just lis­ten, you’re warm­ly wel­come. This is a space for con­nec­tion, curios­i­ty, and community…no musi­cal back­ground need­ed.

How to Par­tic­i­pate?

Spaces are lim­it­ed, so make sure you reg­is­ter.

The form will ask if you have a song to share, so be sure to include your ideas there.
