Music is a Universal Language: Let’s Speak It Together!
Last time we learnt about Finnish music culture – this time we will start with some music from the UK from our British host. Then it will be over to you!
We invite you to share a song from your home country and tell us what it means to you. It could be a childhood favorite, a song that reminds you of home, or a track that simply makes you feel something. No performance required — just your story and the music that moves you.
Here are some things to consider when choosing your song:
- Which song reminds you of home?
- Which song was very popular in your home country?
- Who is the most famous artist or band from your home country?
- What genre is popular in your country that might not be so popular elsewhere?
- Which song reminds you of your childhood?
- Which song shows off the culture of your home country?
What’s in Store?
- A short introduction to British music
- Open music sharing – bring a song and a short story to go with it
- Snacks and refreshments to keep the vibes flowing
- Friendly networking in a relaxed, welcoming space
- A celebration of diversity through sound
Whether you want to share or just listen, you’re warmly welcome. This is a space for connection, curiosity, and community…no musical background needed.
How to Participate?
Spaces are limited, so make sure you register.
The form will ask if you have a song to share, so be sure to include your ideas there.
