Oulu for All: Join the Dis­cus­sion on Sup­port­ing the Vic­tims of Racism in Oulu

The Oulu for All project, togeth­er with Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu, is organ­is­ing a hear­ing for for­eign lan­guage speak­ers and immi­grants. You are warm­ly wel­come to the Oulu for All pro­jec­t’s hear­ing on 13.8.2025 at 16:00.

Par­tic­i­pat­ing in this hear­ing gives you an excel­lent oppor­tu­ni­ty to make an impact on the devel­op­ment of the upcom­ing sup­port cen­tre for the vic­tims of racism in Oulu. You will be able to share your sug­ges­tions and have your con­cerns heard.

Dur­ing the event, the mod­el of the future sup­port cen­tre for the vic­tims of racism will be pre­sent­ed and there will be a chance to hear par­tic­i­pants’ thoughts and views on the needs of peo­ple who have expe­ri­enced racism. The dis­cus­sion will take place in Finnish and in Eng­lish.

The Oulu for All project imple­ments the anti-racism action plan approved by the Oulu City Coun­cil in spring 2025. It aims to iden­ti­fy, pre­vent and com­bat racism in all its forms, sup­port vic­tims of racism and increase inter­ac­tion and trust between dif­fer­ent pop­u­la­tion groups in Oulu.

The pro­jec­t’s mea­sures include increas­ing pos­i­tive inter­ac­tion between dif­fer­ent pop­u­la­tion groups and estab­lish­ing an anti-racism sup­port cen­tre in Oulu. The helpdesk will assist Oulu res­i­dents who have expe­ri­enced racism and dis­crim­i­na­tion.
