New Multilingual Self-Service Kiosk at BusinessAsema Helps with Everyday Questions

The City of Oulu has introduced a new AI-powered self-service kiosk at BusinessAsema. Open on weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, the kiosk is available to all visitors without the need for an appointment.

The kiosk offers voice-guided customer service in multiple languages, making it easier for both locals and internationals to get information about city services.

– We designed the kiosk with users in mind. It provides quick and easy access to guidance on city services, no booking required, says Rikupekka Leinonen, Coordinator at International House Oulu.

– It lowers the barrier to contacting the city and helps with everyday questions.

The kiosk is part of BusinessAsema’s services, located at Uusikatu 52. It supports several languages, making it accessible to a diverse audience. It runs on the OuluBot virtual assistant and uses real-time speech recognition technology developed by Creoir Oy.

Innovation Manager Olli Rantala explains that the kiosk pilot is part of Oulu’s strategy to create smarter and more accessible public services.
