Survey on Housing Preferences of Immigrants in Finland
This survey collects information about the realities and wishes of immigrants’ housing. You can participate anonymously.
The Finnish population growth is purely driven by immigration. Immigrants might have diverse wishes with regards to their housing, but there is a lack of research in Finland on the housing preferences of immigrants or their possibilities to take a mortgage.
MDI is currently conducting a study for the Finnish Mortgage Society. In this study, quantitative housing data will be combined with qualitative data, which will be collected through this survey. The aim is to better understand the housing realities and aspirations of immigrants, as well as to identify potential challenges related to homeownership.
The survey can be answered anonymously, and only the first few background questions are mandatory to all (current municipality of residence and nationality). However, if you wish to be interviewed, you can leave your contact info at the end of the survey for us.
The results of the survey will be reported in a way that the respondents cannot be recognized. All data collected through the survey will be destroyed after the study is completed, and no raw information from the questionnaires will be shared with the commissioning organization.
The survey can be answered in English or Finnish, and the survey link will remain open until June 12, 2025.
