Sur­vey on Hous­ing Pref­er­ences of Immi­grants in Fin­land

This sur­vey col­lects infor­ma­tion about the real­i­ties and wish­es of immi­grants’ hous­ing. You can par­tic­i­pate anony­mous­ly.

The Finnish pop­u­la­tion growth is pure­ly dri­ven by immi­gra­tion. Immi­grants might have diverse wish­es with regards to their hous­ing, but there is a lack of research in Fin­land on the hous­ing pref­er­ences of immi­grants or their pos­si­bil­i­ties to take a mort­gage.

MDI is cur­rent­ly con­duct­ing a study for the Finnish Mort­gage Soci­ety. In this study, quan­ti­ta­tive hous­ing data will be com­bined with qual­i­ta­tive data, which will be col­lect­ed through this sur­vey. The aim is to bet­ter under­stand the hous­ing real­i­ties and aspi­ra­tions of immi­grants, as well as to iden­ti­fy poten­tial chal­lenges relat­ed to home­own­er­ship.

The sur­vey can be answered anony­mous­ly, and only the first few back­ground ques­tions are manda­to­ry to all (cur­rent munic­i­pal­i­ty of res­i­dence and nation­al­i­ty). How­ev­er, if you wish to be inter­viewed, you can leave your con­tact info at the end of the sur­vey for us.

The results of the sur­vey will be report­ed in a way that the respon­dents can­not be rec­og­nized. All data col­lect­ed through the sur­vey will be destroyed after the study is com­plet­ed, and no raw infor­ma­tion from the ques­tion­naires will be shared with the com­mis­sion­ing orga­ni­za­tion.

The sur­vey can be answered in Eng­lish or Finnish, and the sur­vey link will remain open until June 12, 2025.
