Call­ing all inter­na­tion­al tal­ent

Uni­ver­si­ty of Oulu, Oulu Uni­ver­si­ty of Applied Sci­ences, Business­Oulu and Oulu Cham­ber of Com­merce, as part of their Inter­na­tion­al Week activ­i­ties, are orga­niz­ing Inter­na­tion­al Tal­ent Day – com­pa­ny vis­its for the inter­na­tion­al stu­dents.

This is a great oppor­tu­ni­ty for inter­na­tion­al stu­dents to get to know com­pa­nies / orga­ni­za­tions and hear career oppor­tu­ni­ties, if there is any, as well as get insights of work­ing life in Fin­land.  We have orga­nized vis­its to the premis­es of eight great com­pa­nies / orga­ni­za­tions in Oulu that are look­ing to meet inter­na­tion­al tal­ents in var­i­ous fields. Vis­its will take place from 11–13th of Novem­ber 2025.

There are a lim­it­ed num­ber of slots for the com­pa­ny vis­its, and selec­tions are made in the order of enroll­ment. The orga­niz­ers reserve the right to mod­i­fy reg­is­tra­tions. 

Please note that you can only par­tic­i­pate in one com­pa­ny vis­it! 

Please select your vis­it slot accord­ing to your stud­ies. Note that there unfor­tu­nate­ly are no vis­its for all the study pro­grams. Stu­dents who are not study­ing in the field request­ed by the com­pa­ny can­not par­tic­i­pate in the vis­it. 

Com­pa­nies have made great effort arrang­ing and mak­ing this event a suc­cess. There­fore, atten­dance is bind­ing. How­ev­er, if for any unfore­see­able cir­cum­stances you can­not attend, please inform us as soon as pos­si­ble so we can offer your spot to anoth­er par­tic­i­pant.

Fac­ul­ty of Infor­ma­tion Tech­nol­o­gy and Elec­tri­cal Engi­neer­ing (ITEE) at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Oulu pio­neers ICT tech­nolo­gies that shape the sus­tain­able and secure dig­i­tal future. Join us for an inspir­ing after­noon explor­ing ITEE’s world-class research, edu­ca­tion and col­lab­o­ra­tion. Learn about ICT tech­nolo­gies and rel­e­vant skills through the lens­es of three projects.

1.) Oulu­ver­su­mi project focus­es on inno­va­tion and busi­ness relat­ed to the Meta­verse — a com­bi­na­tion of the vir­tu­al and real worlds, also con­sid­ered the next stage in the evo­lu­tion of the inter­net.
2.) FIN­verse project aims to iden­ti­fy use cas­es relat­ed to the meta­verse, pro­mote meta­verse-relat­ed pilots in cities, and con­tribute to stan­dard­i­s­a­tion.
3.) IKAPO project enhances inno­va­tion capac­i­ty espe­cial­ly in the areas of dig­i­tal­i­sa­tion and sus­tain­able devel­op­ment and offers work-life-ori­ent­ed col­lab­o­ra­tion that strength­ens stu­dents’ ICT exper­tise cre­at­ing a smoother tran­si­tion to work­ing life.

Oulun kaup­paka­mari (Oulu Cham­ber of Com­merce)

Fin­land Cham­ber of Com­merce and the 19 region­al cham­bers of com­merce help busi­ness­es suc­ceed in Fin­land and inter­na­tion­al­ly. Oulu Cham­ber of Com­merce oper­ates in whole Oulu region (Oulu, Kain­uu and Pohjois-Poh­jan­maa). Oulu Cham­ber of Com­merce has almost 1500 mem­bers, includ­ing com­pa­nies, munic­i­pal­i­ties, edu­ca­tion­al estab­lish­ments and orga­ni­za­tions.

The cham­bers of com­merce work to cre­ate a favourable oper­a­tional envi­ron­ment for busi­ness­es across Fin­land. Sto­ra Enso Oulu Oy

Busi­ness Unit Oulu is Sto­ra Enso’s north­ern­most unit and oper­ates in four loca­tions: Oulu, Kala­jo­ki, Kemi and Oulainen. A total of about 900 peo­ple works in mechan­i­cal wood pro­cess­ing, pulp and board mills and port oper­a­tions to ensure that prod­ucts are shipped to the glob­al mar­ket.

Sto­ra Enso is a renew­able mate­ri­als com­pa­ny, and the Busi­ness Unit Oulu is at the heart of Sto­ra Enso’s strat­e­gy. The Oulu unit is home to Fin­land’s most effi­cient and world-mod­ern sawmill, as well as Europe’s largest con­sumer board machine. We wel­come stu­dents to vis­it our Oulu Mill, locat­ed near Oulu city cen­ter. Par­tic­i­pants must com­plete our manda­to­ry Vis­i­tor safe­ty induc­tion (e‑learning) one day before arrival.
