Leon Bergsma’s Oulu Expe­ri­ence – Foot­ball, Fans, and Find­ing Home

Leon Bergs­ma is a 28-year-old foot­ball play­er from Ams­ter­dam. He is cur­rent­ly play­ing for AC Oulu. Watch the full video to hear more about Leon’s life and why play­ing in Oulu is some­thing spe­cial.

Leon Bergs­ma says that he thought Oulu was a lit­tle vil­lage before arriv­ing but was pleas­ant­ly sur­prised to find a bustling city of around 200,000 peo­ple.

– From minute one, I had a good feel­ing with the city.

His favourite places to go include the many restau­rants Oulu has to offer, or on sun­ny days he likes to vis­it Nal­likari beach.

He says play­ing foot­ball here is a great expe­ri­ence, and he appre­ci­ates the fans com­ing out to sup­port the team.

– Always when we play away there were a cou­ple of fans there and I real­ly appre­ci­ate this.
