November Board Game Night Invites You: Join Us in Building a Smarter Oulu
Our popular Board Games & Networking is back this November.
International House Oulu’s free event will spotlight the CitizenCity project, an EU-funded initiative developing smart and sustainable city solutions through collaboration across Europe.
In Oulu, the project’s local pilot focuses on the Hartaanselkä area, where data from energy, waste, mobility, and environmental sources is collected and visualized via a digital twin. This data-driven model supports a more sustainable urban future , and citizens can explore the insights through OuluBot, an interactive chatbot designed to make data accessible to everyone.
Recently, in the Deep Tech Leads podcast by BusinessOulu, Ari Saine and Golriz Ghonouei talked about how the CitizenCity project turns city data, like traffic, energy, and weather, into better services for people. They also shared how Oulu’s pilot at Hartaanselkä uses a digital twin and OuluBot to help citizens take part in shaping a smarter city. The upcoming event continues that same mission, inviting you to share your own ideas for a more inclusive and data-driven Oulu.
At our event, a guest from BusinessOulu will share the latest updates from the project and show how citizen feedback is helping shape real use cases in Oulu’s data ecosystem. Your creativity and insights are valuable for building the next generation of urban services.
Plus, you can vote for the best Northern Lights photo at the event!
