Novem­ber Board Game Night Invites You: Join Us in Build­ing a Smarter Oulu

Our pop­u­lar Board Games & Net­work­ing is back this Novem­ber.

Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu’s free event will spot­light the Cit­i­zenCi­ty project, an EU-fund­ed ini­tia­tive devel­op­ing smart and sus­tain­able city solu­tions through col­lab­o­ra­tion across Europe.

In Oulu, the project’s local pilot focus­es on the Har­taanselkä area, where data from ener­gy, waste, mobil­i­ty, and envi­ron­men­tal sources is col­lect­ed and visu­al­ized via a dig­i­tal twin. This data-dri­ven mod­el sup­ports a more sus­tain­able urban future , and cit­i­zens can explore the insights through OuluBot, an inter­ac­tive chat­bot designed to make data acces­si­ble to every­one.

Recent­ly, in the Deep Tech Leads pod­cast by Business­Oulu, Ari Saine and Gol­riz Gho­nouei talked about how the Cit­i­zenCi­ty project turns city data, like traf­fic, ener­gy, and weath­er, into bet­ter ser­vices for peo­ple. They also shared how Oulu’s pilot at Har­taanselkä uses a dig­i­tal twin and OuluBot to help cit­i­zens take part in shap­ing a smarter city. The upcom­ing event con­tin­ues that same mis­sion, invit­ing you to share your own ideas for a more inclu­sive and data-dri­ven Oulu.

At our event, a guest from Business­Oulu will share the lat­est updates from the project and show how cit­i­zen feed­back is help­ing shape real use cas­es in Oulu’s data ecosys­tem. Your cre­ativ­i­ty and insights are valu­able for build­ing the next gen­er­a­tion of urban ser­vices.
