We were very fortunate to recently speak to Julia Oksa, Talent Acquisition Manager at Solita’s Oulu office. As part of their Development Unit, they are constantly hiring new talents; this year the Solita Finland Development Team has grown with over 60 new team members. Furthermore, they have welcomed 300 new team members across the business in 2022.

Founded in 1996, Solita is a fast-growing digital transformation company driven by tech, data and human insight. Their services range from strategic consulting to service design, digital development, data, AI, analytics, and managed cloud services. Its 1,600 digital business specialists are based not just in Finland but across Europe in countries such as Sweden, Estonia, Germany, Denmark and Belgium.
Their clients work in various domains such as industrial, traffic, health and retail. Some of these have included the HSL (Helsinki Regional Transport) app, the Omaolo public health service, and S-Ryhmän Omakauppakassi (S Group My Purchases service).

Being in an environment that upholds these core values is not something that is taken for granted; it takes a lot of work on a daily basis from the entire community, and it is constantly demonstrated by its own employees by the work ethic that goes into creating the innovative solutions that they produce for clients.
This shows in their daily life in many ways, i.e. co-operating with clients that can relate to their values, teams having an impact on the ways of working (technologies and tools, working in a hybrid mode, flexible working hours etc.). Solita actively thank their colleagues and give feedback. They truly believe that there is a huge power in their community and doing things together.
Their cosy office is located in the Valkea shopping centre in the middle of Oulu. There are areas for various purposes; whether people need to work in a silent place, enjoy self-made barista level coffee with colleagues, take a break by playing NHL or enjoy a sauna evening with staff.
The team is active and enjoys spending time together, including outside of working hours. (Morning runs, playing board games, and watching movies are just some of the things they enjoy as a group.) In their own #oulu slack channel, people wish good morning to others at the start of every day!
