Last week on 24th November, ICTOulu was invited to take part in the Oulu University of Applied Science‘s (OAMK) Maalisuora event at their Linnanmaa campus.
We were just one of many businesses and organisations from within the ICT cluster in Oulu that were in attendance, showcasing to a large crowd of students the dynamic make-up of the industry, as well as some of the products and solutions that have been developed in the region. Additionally, this was also a chance for attendees to see what vacancies/potential training opportunities are available.
There is a real need for new talent in the sector as, like many other, it faces a shortage of skilled workers. Events like these are very important to inform the next wave of programmers and coders about the potential opportunities available to them as they consider a future post-studies. At ICTOulu’s stall, we were able to present to students the services we provide and give a broad overview of the cluster’s current recruitment needs.
Overall, it was a great day speaking to students and businesses alike, including many of our member companies, and we are grateful to OAMK for giving us the chance to be a part of Maalisuora!
