An evening jog for the peo­ple of Oulu

Oulu’s most relaxed run invites locals to enjoy an easy­go­ing evening of move­ment in the beau­ti­ful sea­side and riv­er delta scenery!

The event is free of charge and open to every­one, regard­less of age or fit­ness lev­el. The 5 kilo­me­ter route through the Nal­likari and Top­pi­lansaari areas can be enjoyed at your own pace: whether you pre­fer jog­ging, walk­ing, or tak­ing a leisure­ly with a stroller. This is not a race, but an out­door event where every­one is wel­come to move in their own style – just bring along a good mood and a relaxed atti­tude!

Before the run, we will kick things off with a pre-pro­gram on the Aal­lokkoaukio stage in Nal­likari, start­ing at 5 PM. The pro­gram includes inter­views in Finnish with the event’s patron, Euro­pean cham­pi­on Topi Rai­ta­nen, and AC Oulu play­ers who will also join the run. You can also enjoy an acoustic per­for­mance by MAJA duo and a group warm-up ses­sion. Along the route, par­tic­i­pants can refresh them­selves at the Arc­tic Food Lab hydra­tion point.

No advance reg­is­tra­tion is required.

The event is organ­ised by the City of Oulu in coop­er­a­tion with Nal­likari, AC Oulu and Oulu2026.

Route

The route starts at Aal­lokkoaukio square, which is locat­ed in front of the Aal­to Apart­ment Hotel in Nal­likari. From Aal­lokkoaukio we head north, skirt­ing the 2005 Hous­ing Fair area, towards the shore of Top­pi­lansal­mi. From there the route con­tin­ues along the shore all the way to the Möljä bridge.

After cross­ing the bridge, the route con­tin­ues along the shore on the Top­pi­la side to Hietasaar­en­tie, which offers glo­ri­ous views of the Oulu­jo­ki riv­er delta and the Har­taanselkä area, where this year’s Hous­ing Fair is being held. Short­ly before the 4 kilo­me­ter mark­er, the route turns onto Hol­stin­salmen­tie, which takes us back to Nal­likari.

The total length of the route is approx­i­mate­ly 5 kilo­me­ters, but if your legs start to feel tired, there is a pos­si­bil­i­ty to take a short­cut. The short­cut marked with a dot­ted line on the map via Top­pi­lansaar­en­tie short­ens the length of the route to approx­i­mate­ly 3.5 kilo­me­ters.

Oulu’s most relaxed run is a great way to com­bine exer­cise, good vibes and team spir­it. Invite your col­leagues along, put on your sneak­ers and par­tic­i­pate as a team – whether it’s a team of two or an evening jog with the whole office.

Com­pa­nies, asso­ci­a­tions and oth­er orga­ni­za­tions can reg­is­ter for the event by sub­mit­ting their name and logo via the Lyyti form. Orga­ni­za­tions that reg­is­ter in Lyyti will have their logo dis­played on the event web­site. At the same time, you will set an exam­ple and encour­age oth­ers to get mov­ing!
