KIMMOKE

The aim of the KIMMOKE project is to devel­op the lan­guage and mul­ti­cul­tur­al com­pe­tence of teach­ers and guid­ance staff at voca­tion­al school so that teach­ers can sup­port and uti­lize exist­ing tools, mate­ri­als and forms of sup­port. In addi­tion, the project will cre­ate a lan­guage aware­ness and mul­ti­cul­tur­al com­pe­tence train­ing pack­age suit­able for work­ing life, which will be imple­ment­ed in con­nec­tion with learn­ing peri­ods in work­ing life.

The project will also cre­ate pro­fes­sion­al-spe­cif­ic ref­er­ence frame­works and descrip­tive tables for the devel­op­ment of stu­dents’ Finnish lan­guage skills dur­ing the com­ple­tion of the degree and plan a clear path for the devel­op­ment of lan­guage skills as well as uni­ver­si­ty readi­ness. Coop­er­a­tion between lan­guage teach­ers and voca­tion­al teach­ers is essen­tial so that lan­guage sup­port can be inte­grat­ed into pro­fes­sion­al learn­ing.

Dur­ing the project, a lan­guage sup­port team will be estab­lished for OSAO, which will sup­port the birth of the project and con­tin­ue devel­op­ment work after the project has end­ed.
