The City of Oulu is the cap­i­tal of north­ern Fin­land. The Oulu Region has about 250,000 inhab­i­tants and is the fastest grow­ing region in Fin­land.

Oulu com­bines North­ern hos­pi­tal­i­ty, nature and cul­ture with mod­ern tech­nol­o­gy. Oulu val­ues edu­ca­tion, research and inno­va­tion and we are extreme­ly pleased to wel­come every­one to con­tribute to these dynam­ics.

In 2030, Oulu will be a north­ern, sus­tain­ably grow­ing, inter­na­tion­al hub with a pop­u­la­tion of 230,000 res­i­dents. We bring togeth­er a human and hap­py atmos­phere, cut­ting-edge tech­nol­o­gy and entre­pre­neur­ship with an orig­i­nal, cre­ative, and smart cul­tur­al envi­ron­ment. Oulu has plen­ty of capa­ble tal­ent, a high-lev­el selec­tion of edu­ca­tion, and a youth­ful pop­u­la­tion. Oulu is built with sophis­ti­ca­tion.

The Uni­ver­si­ty of Oulu is an inter­na­tion­al sci­ence uni­ver­si­ty that cre­ates new knowl­edge, well­be­ing and inno­va­tions for the future through research and edu­ca­tion. The Uni­ver­si­ty of Oulu, found­ed in 1958, is one of the largest and most mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary uni­ver­si­ties in Fin­land.

Edu­ca­tion­al Con­sor­tium OSAO (VET) is a lead­ing edu­ca­tion­al com­mu­ni­ty of voca­tion­al experts in Fin­land, pro­vid­ing work life skills and con­tin­u­ous learn­ing. We offer edu­ca­tion in all the dif­fer­ent sec­tors of voca­tion­al edu­ca­tion for all age groups.

North Ostro­both­nia well­be­ing ser­vices coun­ty Pohde organ­is­es and pro­duces pub­lic social, health and res­cue ser­vices for the res­i­dents of North Ostro­both­nia. Pohde (Oulu Uni­ver­si­ty Hos­pi­tal) pro­duces spe­cialised health care for the entire North­ern Fin­land coop­er­a­tion area.

The Nat­ur­al Resources Insti­tute Fin­land (Luke) is a research organ­i­sa­tion oper­at­ing under the Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture and Forestry of Fin­land.
