Inter­na­tio­nal House Oulu is well known for gat­he­ring a ran­ge of gui­dance and advi­so­ry ser­vices for inter­na­tio­nal cus­to­mers under one roof. In addi­tion to our in-house ser­vices, Migri, Poh­de, Vil­la Vic­tor and Star­tup Refu­gees all hold regu­lar pop-ups at Inter­na­tio­nal House.

All ser­vices are free of char­ge and the­re is no need to book. Details about all our pop-ups are avai­lable here.

Fin­nish Immi­gra­tion Ser­vices (Migri)

When? Eve­ry Fri­day of odd-num­be­red weeks from 12.00 till 15.00.

What? At Fin­nish Immi­gra­tion Ser­vices’ pop-up, you can ask its specia­lists about dif­fe­rent mat­ters concer­ning, for example, applica­tions for resi­dence per­mits, EU citizens’ regi­stra­tion, and citizens­hip applica­tions. The pop-up’s specia­lists pro­vi­de only gene­ral gui­dance and do not give infor­ma­tion about the proces­sing of sub­mit­ted applica­tions. If you have a ques­tion about an asy­lum applica­tion, at the pop-up you can also get gene­ral gui­dance only. If the issue requi­res furt­her work at Migri’s own office, its specia­lists will help you book an appoint­ment.

Star­tup Refu­gees

When? Eve­ry Thurs­day of odd-num­be­red weeks from 12.00 till 15.00.

What? Emplo­y­ment-rela­ted ques­tions are some of the most com­mon that we get here at Inter­na­tio­nal House Oulu. You are welco­me to come and address the­se ques­tions also at the Star­tup Refu­gees’ pop-up.

Star­tup Refu­gees is a network that sup­ports refu­gees, asy­lum see­kers, and immi­grants by pro­vi­ding advice about emplo­y­ment and ent­repre­neurs­hip.

At the pop-up, you can get Star­tup Refu­gees’ help in loo­king for a job or star­ting your own busi­ness. You can come and crea­te CVs and pro­fi­les in Star­tup Refu­gees’ Match data­ba­se. By doing that, you can get job offers and noti­fica­tions about Star­tup Refu­gees’ trai­ning offers.

Depen­ding on the staff, gui­dance can be offe­red in dif­fe­rent lan­gua­ges during the pop-up.

Vil­la Vic­tor

When? 25.03, 29.04, 27.05 from 9.00 till 11.00.

What? Vil­la Vic­tor is part of the Inter­na­tio­nal House Oulu’s concept, and as such, its repre­sen­ta­ti­ves are at Inter­na­tio­nal House Oulu once a month to answer your ques­tions.

At Mul­ticul­tu­ral Cent­re Vil­la Victor’s month­ly pop-up, you can learn more about the organisation’s free non-stop Fin­nish cour­ses, various club acti­vi­ties, info ses­sions, and mul­ticul­tu­ral events. Feel free to come and ask about their diver­se ran­ge of ser­vices!
If you have no idea what Vil­la Vic­tor is, but you want to dive into their world of mul­ticul­tu­ral acti­vi­ties and Fin­nish lan­gua­ge lear­ning, then its emplo­yees will glad­ly int­ro­duce you to it.

Poh­de

When? Eve­ry Thurs­day from 9.00 till 12.00.

For whom? You can beco­me Pohde’s client, if:

• you have recei­ved inter­na­tio­nal pro­tec­tion and are in your inte­gra­tion process or
• if you are a vic­tim of human traf­fic­king, regard­less of natio­na­li­ty, or an undocu­men­ted per­son.

What? Examples of ser­vices avai­lable at the pop-up inclu­de gui­dance about social ser­vices and help with fil­ling in applica­tions for supple­men­ta­ry or pre­ven­ti­ve inco­me sup­port. Pohde’s pop-up specia­lists can pro­vi­de ser­vices in dif­fe­rent lan­gua­ges through a mobi­le interpre­ter.

Poh­de is at Inter­na­tio­nal House Oulu in addi­tion to the city’s inte­gra­tion ser­vices that are avai­lable from Mon­day to Thurs­day from 9.00 till 10.00. The city’s inte­gra­tion ser­vices are open to the same cus­to­mer group. Howe­ver, if you need Pohde’s assis­tance, you will need to apply to beco­me their cus­to­mer sepa­ra­te­ly in case you need more inten­si­ve or regu­lar gui­dance.
