Pop-up ser­vices at Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu

Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu is well known for gath­er­ing a range of guid­ance and advi­so­ry ser­vices for inter­na­tion­al cus­tomers under one roof. In addi­tion to our in-house ser­vices, Migri, Pohde, Vil­la Vic­tor and Start­up Refugees all hold reg­u­lar pop-ups at Inter­na­tion­al House.

All ser­vices are free of charge and there is no need to book. Details about all our pop-ups are avail­able here.

Finnish Immi­gra­tion Ser­vices (Migri)

When? Every Fri­day of odd-num­bered weeks from 12.00 till 15.00.

What? At Finnish Immi­gra­tion Ser­vices’ pop-up, you can ask its spe­cial­ists about dif­fer­ent mat­ters con­cern­ing, for exam­ple, appli­ca­tions for res­i­dence per­mits, EU cit­i­zens’ reg­is­tra­tion, and cit­i­zen­ship appli­ca­tions. The pop-up’s spe­cial­ists pro­vide only gen­er­al guid­ance and do not give infor­ma­tion about the pro­cess­ing of sub­mit­ted appli­ca­tions. If you have a ques­tion about an asy­lum appli­ca­tion, at the pop-up you can also get gen­er­al guid­ance only. If the issue requires fur­ther work at Migri’s own office, its spe­cial­ists will help you book an appoint­ment.

Start­up Refugees

When? Every Thurs­day of odd-num­bered weeks from 12.00 till 15.00.

What? Employ­ment-relat­ed ques­tions are some of the most com­mon that we get here at Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu. You are wel­come to come and address these ques­tions also at the Start­up Refugees’ pop-up.

Start­up Refugees is a net­work that sup­ports refugees, asy­lum seek­ers, and immi­grants by pro­vid­ing advice about employ­ment and entre­pre­neur­ship.

At the pop-up, you can get Start­up Refugees’ help in look­ing for a job or start­ing your own busi­ness. You can come and cre­ate CVs and pro­files in Start­up Refugees’ Match data­base. By doing that, you can get job offers and noti­fi­ca­tions about Start­up Refugees’ train­ing offers.

Depend­ing on the staff, guid­ance can be offered in dif­fer­ent lan­guages dur­ing the pop-up.

Vil­la Vic­tor

When? 25.03, 29.04, 27.05 from 9.00 till 11.00.

What? Vil­la Vic­tor is part of the Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu’s con­cept, and as such, its rep­re­sen­ta­tives are at Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu once a month to answer your ques­tions.

At Mul­ti­cul­tur­al Cen­tre Vil­la Victor’s month­ly pop-up, you can learn more about the organisation’s free non-stop Finnish cours­es, var­i­ous club activ­i­ties, info ses­sions, and mul­ti­cul­tur­al events. Feel free to come and ask about their diverse range of ser­vices!
If you have no idea what Vil­la Vic­tor is, but you want to dive into their world of mul­ti­cul­tur­al activ­i­ties and Finnish lan­guage learn­ing, then its employ­ees will glad­ly intro­duce you to it.

Pohde

When? Every Thurs­day from 9.00 till 12.00.

For whom? You can become Pohde’s client, if:

• you have received inter­na­tion­al pro­tec­tion and are in your inte­gra­tion process or
• if you are a vic­tim of human traf­fick­ing, regard­less of nation­al­i­ty, or an undoc­u­ment­ed per­son.

What? Exam­ples of ser­vices avail­able at the pop-up include guid­ance about social ser­vices and help with fill­ing in appli­ca­tions for sup­ple­men­tary or pre­ven­tive income sup­port. Pohde’s pop-up spe­cial­ists can pro­vide ser­vices in dif­fer­ent lan­guages through a mobile inter­preter.

Pohde is at Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu in addi­tion to the city’s inte­gra­tion ser­vices that are avail­able from Mon­day to Thurs­day from 9.00 till 10.00. The city’s inte­gra­tion ser­vices are open to the same cus­tomer group. How­ev­er, if you need Pohde’s assis­tance, you will need to apply to become their cus­tomer sep­a­rate­ly in case you need more inten­sive or reg­u­lar guid­ance.
