Digitalized test environment for robotic machines, vehicles and drone (Networked Robotics Testbeds)

The objective of the Networked Robotics Testbeds project is to equip and develop the infrastructures of Ouluzone, Linnanmaa Campus, Pekurinkulma in Oulu city center, and Callio in Pyhäjärvi to an international standard. These sites will be developed into digitalized, interdisciplinary, and networked testing environments for low-emission mobile machinery, drones, and robots. The project also aims to promote the green transition and support regional sustainable development. Close collaboration will be established with multiple companies that utilize these test centers for their own product development.
Project Activities:
Investments:
- Acquisition of new low-emission automated machinery, vehicles, and drones.
- Construction and equipping of remote control centers and testing environments.
- Charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and data communication networks.
Development Activities:
- Organization and enhancement of testing environments to enable cutting-edge research.
- Establishing international collaboration networks and partnerships with technology companies.
Educational Activities:
- Utilizing test centers as educational environments.
- Establishing new workshops and providing training for industry stakeholders.
Through this project, an internationally competitive, networked testing infrastructure for low-emission machinery, drones, and robots will be developed in the Oulu region. This testing environment will significantly support the region’s green transition, technological advancement, and business growth.
The project is co-funded by the European Union.
