VISIOK and VISIOP

VISIOK – Pro­mot­ing the Green Tran­si­tion in Edu­ca­tion (Devel­op­ment Project)

The aim of the VISIOK project is to advance the green tran­si­tion, increase aware­ness of sus­tain­able ener­gy solu­tions, and strength­en employ­ment and busi­ness in North­ern Ostro­both­nia. This will be achieved by enhanc­ing edu­ca­tion through var­i­ous devel­op­ment mea­sures and imple­ment­ing new research, demon­stra­tion, and learn­ing envi­ron­ments. Addi­tion­al­ly, the project aims to devel­op a new logis­tics pow­er ecosys­tem in col­lab­o­ra­tion with local com­pa­nies.

The project will pro­duce new research data, par­tic­u­lar­ly on the per­for­mance of hydro­gen and elec­tric trucks in var­i­ous trans­port tasks. It will also estab­lish learn­ing envi­ron­ments for sus­tain­able inter­nal logis­tics, forestry, and the main­te­nance and ser­vic­ing of alter­na­tive-pow­ered util­i­ty vehi­cles.

Exten­sive dis­cus­sions will be held with stake­hold­ers from the forestry sec­tor, auto­mo­tive main­te­nance, and trans­port and logis­tics com­pa­nies to iden­ti­fy skills need­ed and future devel­op­ment per­spec­tives.

More­over, the project includes bench­mark­ing vis­its to lead­ing com­pa­nies and edu­ca­tion­al insti­tu­tions in the field. Dis­cus­sions will also be held with OEM com­pa­nies regard­ing avail­able solu­tions, includ­ing hydro­gen trucks, elec­tric trucks, forestry sim­u­la­tors, vir­tu­al envi­ron­ments, robot­ics, and iden­ti­fi­ca­tion tech­nol­o­gy.
