Blaz­ing trails for North­ern Inno­va­tion — Oulu Inno­va­tion Alliance 2.0 — devel­op­ment and coor­di­na­tion project enables the devel­op­ment of the Oulu Inno­va­tion Alliance towards Europe’s best, nation­al­ly and inter­na­tion­al­ly known, agile and attrac­tive dig­i­tal inno­va­tion ecosys­tem that pro­duces glob­al added val­ue, to which the alliance part­ners are com­mit­ted and whose val­ue chain busi­ness­es from large loco­mo­tive com­pa­nies to star­tups can eas­i­ly access.

The mea­sures of the project will be the devel­op­ment of Oulu’s inno­va­tion alliance 2.0 — oper­at­ing mod­el, which will sup­port even more indus­try-ori­ent­ed R&D activ­i­ties in the region as well as nation­al coop­er­a­tion and inter­na­tion­al­iza­tion in select­ed tar­get sec­tors 1) dig­i­ti­za­tion in the change of the urban envi­ron­ment, 2) dig­i­tal health and well-being solu­tions, 3) sus­tain­able cir­cu­lar econ­o­my and clean solu­tions and cross-cut­ting 4) Start­up — entre­pre­neur­ship, know-how and con­tin­u­ous learn­ing, the whole of busi­ness ecosys­tems and sup­port, and the city as a devel­op­ment plat­form for smart city solu­tions.

With the help of the project, the fund­ing rounds in accor­dance with the city of Oulu’s ecosys­tem agree­ment with the Min­istry of Eco­nom­ic Affairs and Employ­ment ( TEM) will be car­ried out with high qual­i­ty and the inno­va­tion ecosys­tem of the area will be con­nect­ed to the nation­al Innokaupun­git net­work. The project will con­tribute also to com­mu­ni­ca­tion and mar­ket­ing of the Oulu Inno­va­tion Alliance.
