Port of Oulu

Oulu is the logis­tics hub for North­ern Europe. Sea, land and rail trans­port meet in the port of Oulu pro­vid­ing trans­port effec­tive­ly to the whole North­ern Scan­di­navia as well as Rus­sia. The largest mul­ti­pur­pose port in the Both­n­ian Bay serves in the fastest grow­ing city in North­ern Europe. All three parts of the port: Oritkari, Nuot­tasaari and Vihreäsaari are open all-year 24/7.

The dig­i­tal project PORT OULU Smarter aims at devel­op­ing and using mod­ern port dig­i­tal­iza­tion togeth­er with clients and stake­hold­ers. In a mul­ti-func­tion­al envi­ron­ment, a new type of data plat­form is cre­at­ed, which col­lects infor­ma­tion on port activ­i­ties and the sta­tus of the port. The dig­i­tal infra­struc­ture devel­op­ment mea­sures in the area will inte­grate the trans­port and com­mu­ni­ca­tions ser­vices in the port area into a seam­less pack­age.
