Sto­ries of War­jak­ka

Aug­men­ted rea­li­ty from Var­jak­ka

Sto­ries of War­jak­ka is a two-year pro­ject through which Tai­ka­Box col­lects and pre­sents tra­di­tion and sto­ries rela­ted to the colour­ful his­to­ry of Var­jak­ka using art and new tech­no­lo­gy. The pro­ject was announced at War­ja­kan Bar & Grill on 1 Decem­ber, 2018. The docu­men­ta­ry shown at the launch pre­sen­ted sto­ries of dif­fe­rent sta­ges of Var­ja­kan­saa­ri: from a 19th cen­tu­ry shi­py­ard to one of the lar­gest saw­mills in the Nor­dic count­ries in the ear­ly 20th cen­tu­ry and charcoal bur­ning during the war. Tai­ka­Box will bring aug­men­ted rea­li­ty into Var­jak­ka based on tra­di­tio­nal sto­ries.
