Aug­ment­ed real­i­ty from Var­jak­ka

Sto­ries of War­jak­ka is a two-year project through which Taik­aBox col­lects and presents tra­di­tion and sto­ries relat­ed to the colour­ful his­to­ry of Var­jak­ka using art and new tech­nol­o­gy. The project was announced at War­jakan Bar & Grill on 1 Decem­ber, 2018. The doc­u­men­tary shown at the launch pre­sent­ed sto­ries of dif­fer­ent stages of Var­jakansaari: from a 19th cen­tu­ry ship­yard to one of the largest sawmills in the Nordic coun­tries in the ear­ly 20th cen­tu­ry and char­coal burn­ing dur­ing the war. Taik­aBox will bring aug­ment­ed real­i­ty into Var­jak­ka based on tra­di­tion­al sto­ries.
